Thee Philly Grille, Now Open!
Joe Glinka, better known to his cheese steak fans as Joe Monacello, Is back in front of the flattop grill at a new restaurant.
Joe became known for his Philly Steaks at a pizza place in Little River called Monacello's, which was where Supreme Pizza is now located, across from Hardee's.
When he left Monacello's Joe went into the construction business for a while.
But now he is back in the game and is using Amoroso rolls from Philly, steaks from Philly, "and
attitude from Philly, and that's all you need to know," Joe said Tuesday during a soft opening for
friends.
The restaurant's owner is John Fannin, who used to own Michael's Pizza in Cherry Grove, before
it became Basil's Pizza. John also owns First Choice Auto Sales in Little River.
The Philly Steaks and Philly Chickens are the stars of the this establishment. They're served
with chips and a pickle, and prices range from $5.95 for an 8-inch without cheese to $12.15 for
a 12-incher with double meat.
You can get them topped with grilled onions, mushrooms, green peppers, lettuce, tomato and mayo for no extra charge. Another option is a Pizza Steak with marinara and provolone.
Other menu items include Hoagies, including an Italian Hoagie and a Club Sub; burgers; Grilled Chicken Sandwich; finger foods such as Cheese Fries, Chicken Tenders and Jalapeno Poppers; Wings (hot, barbecue, medium, Parmesan, tariyaki); and salads (chef, side, antipasto, grilled steak or chicken). A few miscellaneous menu items are a Hot Dog, and Meatball Parmesan and Sausage Parmesan sandwiches. In season you'll also be able to get a bowl of soup or chili.
A nice job was done on the restaurant's decor. It is casual, but it has a pleasant character with a cozy harvest pumpkin color on the walls, matching orange-and-white tiled floor, pendant lights and comfy wood tables and chairs.
Now Open 11am - 8pm Mon-Sat
